HAFEZ FAREED AKOOJEE (PRINCIPAL)

Hafez Fareed completed his hifz of the Holy Quraan in 1987 at the Darul Uloom of Azaadville. Subsequently, he has taught at various madaris in the northern suburbs of Johannesburg. He brings with him a passion for educating our youngsters and significant learnings in his eleven years of experience at various levels within the education system of madaris.

SHEIKH SHAIBU ISSA

AAfter completing his six-year aalim course at the Namanolo Islamic Centre in Malawi, Sheikh has also commenced the programme of becoming Hafiz-ul-Quraan and to date has completed twelve paras. His experience over the last 10 years has included amongst others; member of a da’wah movement, ustadh for newly reverted Muslims in Fordsburg, head imam at the then Sandton Musallah and teaching at the current madressa for the last five odd years.

APA LEILA MOTALA

Apa Leila competently assisted the Sandton madressa in a time of need when there was a lack of teaching staff. Her appointment was made permanent as a result of the confidence of the madressa team and Apa Leila has since 2008 been appointed as the grade 1 muallima. She has in the last two years mastered the curriculum and will continue in this capacity (grade 1 teacher) for 2011, Insha Allah.

SHEIKH AMAN NTIYA

Sheikh Amaan completed his four-year aalim course at the Blantyre Islamic Mission and also obtained his MSCE levels which equate to the South African matriculation standard. Sheikh also completed a three month teaching course. Thereafter, he spent two years teaching at a madressa in Malawi.

APA RAZEENA RAJAH

Apa completed her muallima course in 2001 at Madressa Miftahul Uloom Lil Banaat. In 2008, she obtained her Diploma at the College of Montesorri. Her calling as a teacher is purely out of love for children. Her experience as a teacher over the past few years includes the Marlboro Madressa and the SIA Madressa.

APA FATIMA FAKIR

Completed her muallima course at Madressa Miftahul Uloom Lil Banaat in 1993. Apa Fatima has extensive teaching experience achieved in the last 15 years at various madaris in the Marlboro, Kelvin and Waterval area. She is also involved in conducting regular adult classes for females.

APA AMINA

Apa Amina has joined the SIA in 2011 as the Grade R teacher. We are confident that the impact she will have on our smaller children will be positive.
